Hackmanite is a member of the Sodalite family and can be found in shades of violet, pink, blue, yellow, and green, but most commonly is a dusty white. It was first discovered in 1901 and is UV reactive, turning bright orange when under a blacklight. I bought this sturdier Oil Filter Wrench when I was having trouble removing the oil filter on my 2003 BMW 1150RT with a stamped steel oil filter wrench that I had previously used. It still slipped, but adding a strip of grit mesh between the filter and the filter wrench saved the day. I still like this cast aluminum filter wrench better than the stamped steel one.
